Food insecurity is a major concern in our community, and the lack of access to healthy foods directly impacts the health and wellbeing of our Harford County neighbors. There are resources available, however, and we are working hard to provide a one stop resource for food assistance in our community. Harford Community Action Agency Food Pantry

Harford Community Action Agency (HCAA) 1321 Woodbridge Station Way, Edgewood (410.612.9899) provides groceries  HCAA also assists people with completing their SNAP application as well as apply for homeless services. If you do not have transportation and cannot access groceries, please phone their offices for help.

Monday through Friday, 8AM – 4:30PM. Closed Saturdays and Sundays.

School Meals

Harford County Public Schools (HCPS) encourages families to complete the Free and Reduced Meals (FARMS) application each year to determine if their students qualify for free breakfast and lunch during the school day. Submit any time during the year (new year begins July 1) or if family income changes.  Complete the online application here or visit www.hcpsmenus.com to download a paper application and for more information.

 

Community / Faith Based Grocery & Meal Assistance

Northern part of the county

Mason-Dixon Community Services  (MDCS) 708 Highland Road, Street, is distributing pre-bagged groceries via drive- thru for northern county residents at their Highlands Common building. They are also providing mobile food pantry services to seniors, disabled, and others who are not able to travel. MDCS will also hosts occasional pop up food giveaways. Grace Memorial Episcopal Church – Wilson Ministries, The Grace Episcopal Parish Church (717) 314.3913 runs Wilson Ministries at 1024 Main Street, Darlington, 410.836.3555.  The Twice Blessed Thrift Shop provides one emergency bag of pre-packed nonperishable food, Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays (except the 3rd Saturday). Limited to once a month. On the third Saturday, the Wilson Center is offers 3 bags free groceries (meat, nonperishables, produce) with toiletries per family. Limited pet food may be available as well.

St. Mary’s Church, 1021 St Marys Rd, Pylesville, MD 21132.  The Food Pantry, located  on the ground floor beneath the Church hall. It is accessed in the rear of the building.

Stewartstown Food Pantry –  10 Church Street, Stewartstown, PA.  17363. Food distributions are held at the Stewartstown United Methodist Church overflow parking lot, located next to 10 Church St.  Open to anyone in need of  food assistance. People can choose  foods as well as cleaning and personal items.  Appointments are recommended to minimize wait time.  To make an appointment, call 717-501-6018 and leave a message.
