University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air and Aberdeen Medical Center in Aberdeen) is a community-based nonprofit health system dedicated to improving and maintaining the health of people in the community through an integrated health delivery system.

UM Upper Chesapeake Community Outreach and Health Improvement (COHI)
Community Outreach and Health Improvement (COHI) is the community outreach department of the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UMUCH). COHI nurses and health educators provide medical screenings and educational programs throughout the community. Medical screenings include blood pressure, body fat/body composition, stroke assessment, sleep disorder screening, and more. Diabetes A1C tests and cholesterol tests are also provided for a small fee. Public health screenings are also available on their mobile van.
Free Health classes offered in the community include:

- Diabetes Prevention Program
- Chronic Disease self management
- Living with Pain
- Stop Smoking programs
- Matter of Balance fall prevention programs
- Tai Ji Quan, Moving for Better Balance
- Stop the Bleed first aid education.
Kids educational programs available to the public include:
- Kids Against Tobacco
- Glow Germ -hand washing education
- Tattoos and Piercings
- Teddy Bear Clinics – what to expect when visiting the emergency room
- How Sweet it Is – education about how much sugar is in everyday beverages.

West Cecil Health Center/Beacon Health Center
West Cecil Health Center and the Beacon Health Center are Cecil and Harford County’s only Federally Qualified Health Centers. Between these two sites, patients can access primary care, women’s care, mental health services, and dental services. All Federally Qualified Health Centers accept patients of all ages, income levels and insurance status, which means anyone can receive services regardless of whether or not they have insurance. All services are provided on a sliding scale fee. Se habla espanol.

The Harford County Health Department
The Health Department provides a wide range of health services including cancer prevention services, sexual transmitted disease testing, flu clinics, immunizations, Behavioral Health (addiction counseling and/or mental health), food inspections, WIC services, Breast feeding support, health policy, and more. The Health Department tracks health trends in Harford County and provides and adjusts services to meet those needs.
