Upcoming 5k’s in Harford County

Winter… Let it Go

Most of us have spent more than our fair share of time inside this winter. As a self-employed mom of two young children who were rarely in school due to snow, ice, subzero temps, or all of the above, I can vouch that “cabin fever” is a real (and quite uncomfortable) condition. Many times I found myself singing the lyrics to Disney’s Frozen…”Let it go, let it go”…And so I have, as daylight stretches a minute longer each day and the red buds fill in the barren holes of winter past, I am practically giddy with the anticipation of being outdoors again to play, garden, and run.

Spring into a 5k

Nothing is more fulfilling than deciding to train and run or walk a 5k (3.2 miles) during the season of hope and renewal. Although it may sound corny, running or walking a measurable distance either for charity, health, or both, is not only good for your heart, but also therapy for the soul (no pun intended). Luckily, we live in Harford County where there are plenty of upcoming 5k’s to choose from throughout May and into June. The hardest decision will be choosing which one to run!
