Meals and Groceries Access during the CoVid19 Shutdown

We are working to provide a resources for food assistance in our community during the CoVid19 shutdowns. We will be updating these pages as new information becomes available. If you have additional information to add, please email us at info@healthyharford.org.

For general food access, please contact the Harford Community Action Agency, 1321 Woodbridge Station Way, Edgewood (410.612.9899) as they are the main food access point in Harford County.  In addition, please see information below on food access through local church locations throughout the county. 

School Meals

While school is closed due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Harford County Public Schools (HCPS)will provide a meal package, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, from 11am to 1pm (note times for specific sites) Monday thru Friday at locations through out the county

Meals are available to children ages 2-18 – one package per day per child.  No application or pre-enrollment required. This service is available to all students, not just those on free and reduced meals. Children must be present to receive meals.

Mobile Food Pantry

In coordination with the HCPS meals, the Harford Community Action Agency (CAA) will be available with their mobile food pantry on the following days:

12 pm to 12:45 pm:  George D. Lisby Elementary

Thursday, April 2:
11 am to 11:45 am:  HDG Middle School
12 pm to 12:45 pm:  HDG Elementary School

The HCAA mobile food pantry is a white van. A table cloth with their logo will be set up in front of the van. They will be providing pre-bagged non perishables until they run out. There are no guaranteed quantities.

Individuals experiencing homelessness

The Emergency Rotating Shelter will not be in operation during COVID-19 shutdowns. Shelter placement and referrals will only be for the Welcome One Shelter located at 1221 Brass Mill Road in Belcamp, Md. 21017, which will now be 24 hours. 

The day shelter at New Hope Fellowship Church located at 2048 Watergate Court in Edgewood, Md. 21040 will be closed the week of March 16th thru March 23rd, however packaged lunches will still be handed out to those in need during lunch hours of 12pm-1pm.

All overnight shelters are presently operating 24 hours during the CoVid-19 crisis.
