UBUNTU Collective Black Healing Series

About this Event:
Strength-based, resiliency-focused, and collective healing traditions have sustained Black people through long periods of hardship imposed by the larger society.

This online training series will provide an opportunity to hear from an exceptional and outstanding Black / African psychologist who has a long history of promoting, practicing, and embracing life-affirming collective healing-centered strategies.

Objective: To help attendees identify the basic characteristics of a unique COMMUNITY healing intervention that is culturally grounded in the African tradition Ubuntu which views healing as the restoration of COMMUNITY-centered norms, customs, and life-saving structures/ and institutions.

Once you register, you will receive a Zoom link to participate in a 3-part training series on the following dates (Wednesdays, 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM EST):

Session 1 on February 10, 2021: The Dynamics of Ubuntu: Addressing Transgenerational Trauma of Black People

Session 2 on February 17, 2021: Ubuntu in Self-Healing: Healer Heal Thyself

Session 3 on February 24, 2021: Techniques in Ubuntu: Putting Theory into Practice

If you cannot attend one or more of the training workshops, you will receive a recording of your missed sessions. However, you have to participate in all three online training workshops to earn the CEUs.
