Cognitive actions of the brain involve the skills we use daily to get along in the world. Dementia affects the skills and a person’s ability to function independently. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia. These are progressive diseases that destroy memory and other mental functions.
These diseases are very common; more than 3 million people are diagnosed each year. Treatment can help, but there is no cure. Learn more about these diseases and how you may help a friend or loved one. |
