INTRODUCTION

What exactly does health mean?  Health can include a broad variety of things including blood pressure, cholesterol, heart disease, oral health, mental health, weight control and many more.  With so many different components trying to establish good health can be very overwhelming and even confusing at times. 

There is good news and bad news when it comes to health.  The bad news is that certain areas of our health are out of our control due to our genetic make-up, but the good news is that we do have control of the majority of the factors that can affect our personal health.  We have this control through the lifestyle choices we make each day.  These choices can include the foods we eat, seeing the doctor regularly for check-ups and screenings such as blood pressure and cholesterol, limiting sun exposure and choosing not to smoke or use other drugs.

The key to establishing proper health is to identify your risk factors and seek preventative care services to keep chronic diseases at bay.
